- Open up Outlook and click on the File tab.
- Click Add account
- Click New
- Add in your email address
- Click Advanced options and check Let me set up my account manually
- Click Connect
- Under Advanced setup, select IMAP
- Under Incoming mail server, enter in mx1.sitehost.co.nz
- Under Incoming mail port, type in 993
- Set Encryption method to SSL/TLS
- Under Outgoing mail server, enter in mx1.sitehost.co.nz
- Under Outgoing mail port, type in 465
- Set Encryption method to SSL/TLS
- Click Next
- Type or paste in your email address password
- Click Connect
- Uncheck Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone, too and click Done
- Send yourself a test email to be sure that the emails reach your inbox
Outlook bug – Inbox is empty
In some versions of Outlook, a bug can occur in which no emails or folders are displayed in the Inbox. The below instructions have been taken from this article.
- Under the Folder tab, right of the Favorites tab, click IMAP Folders.
- Outlook should open a dialog box with IMAP folders. There is a checkbox that says, When displaying hierarchy in outlook, show only the subscribed folders. The checkbox should be unchecked/unselected.
- Click OK.
- Navigate back to the Home tab, and then press the send/receive button, which should immediately start downloading the inbox files and folders.
