Setting up Samsung Mail app

Below is a video outlining how to set up and access your emails using the Samsung Mail app, which you can also view here. Below this video are written instructions.

  1. Open the Samsung Mail app
  2. Tap the hamburger in the top left hand corner
  3. Tap on the gear icon
  4. Tap on Add account
  5. Select the type as Other
  6. Type in your email address and password
  7. Tap on Manual setup
  8. Under ‘Select account type’ select IMAP account
  9. Under ‘Incoming server’ set the ‘IMAP Server’ as mx1.sitehost.co.nz and ensure no empty spaces or lines are copied across
  10. Set ‘Security type’ as SSL if it isn’t by default
  11. Set ‘Port’ as 993 if it isn’t by default
  12. Under ‘Outgoing server’ set the ‘SMTP Server’ as mx1.sitehost.co.nz and ensure no empty spaces or lines are copied across
  13. Set ‘Security type’ as SSL if it isn’t by default
  14. Set ‘Port’ as 465 if it isn’t by default
  15. Ensure ‘Require authentication to send emails’ is selected, and your username and password are entered in
  16. Tap Sign in
  17. Select your sync options and then tap Next
  18. Enter the name for the account and tap Next.
  19. Open the Samsung Mail app, switch to the new account and send yourself a test email to be sure that the emails reach your inbox.
