Setting up iPhone / iPad / iOS

Below is a video outlining how to set up and access your emails using an iPhone or iPad which you can also view here. Below this video are written instructions.

  1. Navigate to the Settings app.
  2. Tap on Mail
  3. Tap on Accounts
  4. Tap on Add Account
  5. Tap on Other.
  6. Tap on Add Mail Account.
  7. Enter your name, email address, and password, then tap on Next.
  8. Ensure the IMAP tab up the top is selected.
  9. Under Incoming mail server enter mx1.sitehost.co.nz as the Host Name. ensure no empty spaces or lines are copied across.
  10. Under Incoming mail server enter your full email address as the Username. Enter your password.
  11. Under Outgoing mail server enter mx1.sitehost.co.nz as the Host Name. ensure no empty spaces or lines are copied across.
  12. Under Outgoing mail server enter your full email address as the Username. Enter your password.
  13. Tap Next.
  14. Ensure the Mail box is green, then tap on Save.
  15. Open up the Mail app, and send yourself a test email to be sure that the emails reach your inbox.
  16. Optional steps below – if you wish to set the ‘Sent’ folder
  17. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts. You should see the list of email accounts on your device. Tap on the newly created account.
  18. Tap on Account or the email address.
  19. Scroll to the bottom and tap on Advanced.
  20. There will be a list of folders under Mailbox behaviours. Tap on Sent mailbox.
  21. To ensure sent messages are stored in the correct folder, select Sent, which will be in the list under On the server.
  22. Tap on Advanced to go back, and repeat this process for:
    • Drafts Mailbox (select Drafts which is under On the server)
    • Deleted Mailbox (select Trash which is under On the server)
